Valerie WendorffClinical Psychologist

My search for a way to deal with my own issues has led me to the psycho-organic analysis therapy method, which was a life changing experience.

About Me

Hello, I’m Valerie. I am a trilingual therapist and I can offer you the possibility to freely express yourself without barriers in your own native language, French, Arabic or English. I have over 10 years experience in clinical work and I am interested in uncovering and understanding the obstacles that are keeping you from becoming happy, healthy and well.

My History

I was raised in Lebanon, a rich and culturally diverse country, but also a conflicted country, where every morning I woke up to a new crisis, a new threat, a new loss. However, living in Lebanon despite all the painful circumstances, it taught me innovative ways of dealing with distress, trauma, and survival. Most of all, it taught me how to still strive and enjoy life no matter what. I understand how repressed emotions, anger, frustration, trauma and grief can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food, body and self-worth.

My approach to Therapy

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Psychology relies on research, scientific data and evidence for the creation and implementation of assessments, for formulation and for effective treatment. In my work as a Psychologist I explore narratives and meanings that you have created in your life, and work with you to help you write new healthier patterns for managing day-2-day life. Our goal may range from resolving deep rooted difficulties or disorders, to realising your full potential and finding happiness.

When I was exploring my own narrative, and in searching for ways to deal with my own difficulties, I found the psycho-organic analysis therapy method, which was a life changing experience. This is a creative therapeutic approach that acknowledges the profound bond between our mind, our emotions and our body. It works both with the psyche and the organism, the mind and the body. It draws from Psychoanalysis, Body Psychotherapy and Gestalt Therapy. Because of the change I was experiencing in my therapy, I decided to train and become a Psychotherapist and train in Psycho-Organic Analysis.

I have found that combining both qualifications and trainings, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, has given me a unique integrative and broader approach in the way I work with my clients. And because every person is different and unique, I believe that different modalities are necessary to achieve wellness. Thus, I work in a multi-dimensional way creating a treatment pathway specifically tailored for you, depending on your need. I aim to offer you a safe and non-judgmental space where you can find the support you need to express yourself freely, so you can face and overcome your struggles, and live your life in a happy and fulfilling way.
