I am a qualified counsellor, with a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute in London. I am currently completing my dissertation for my MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute and am in my fifth year of a psychotherapy training.
Previously I had two years training in Person-Centred counselling at Guildford College. I also have a degree in English, a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources, an MBA, an NLP practitioner qualification, and an advanced certificate in coaching.
I have experience of working with clients in long-term therapy and in brief therapy. I have counselled young people 14-24 year olds and worked with couples. I have worked in the NHS and also with people with severe mental health problems (particularly schizophrenia) and with survivors of domestic abuse. My other specialisms include counselling clients with bereavement, workplace issues, relationship problems, and anxiety.
Prior to training as a therapist, I had a career in Human Resources. I worked in charities and in the private sector and latterly headed up an HR Department for an international charity, where I was responsible for HR worldwide and managed staff in the UK and overseas. I have substantial experience of coaching individuals, facilitating groups, and running learning and development sessions.
