Children Resort to Drastic Measures to Control Their Weight

A recent poll was taken of children aged 7-18 years of age.  40% of under 10's reported to having been on a diet within  the last year or considered themselves overweight.  Of all the age groups 1 in 7 reported to being on a constant diet with a quarter having visited anorexia websites  It has been found that these children are resorting to ever more drastic measures to control their weight rather than taking up an attitude of a healthy lifestyle.

Today, NHS staff in England are being told to adapt their roles to ensure they promote good health to all that they come into contact with under new plans.  Therefore, one wonders what school nurses have been doing with the children in their care.
